Do you know that feeling in winter – especially if you have flat feet?

• Burning or painful balls of the feet due to the collapsed transverse arch
• Rapid fatigue when walking, as the forefoot does not properly cushion the impact.
• Unsafe footing on slippery surfaces due to an unstable forefoot
• Pressure sores and chafing in the ball of the foot area caused by tight shoes
• Increased pain due to cold and hard shoe soles
• Less and less desire for walks or exercise in winter

If you recognize yourself here, you are like many other people with flat feet.

Especially in winter, thick, heavy, and often too-tight shoes exacerbate the underlying problem. The forefoot is further compressed, the already weakened transverse arch gives way even more, and the pressure is distributed incorrectly. The result is pain, burning balls of the feet, instability when walking, and significantly faster fatigue.

The result:

People take it easier, move less – and the splayfoot worsens further in the long term.

The crucial difference lies not in the weather – but in the right support for your splayfoot.

A well-designed orthopedic winter shoe:

• relieves the transverse arch
• reduces pressure on the painful ball of the foot
• stabilizes the forefoot
• Ensures a secure footing on smooth surfaces
• Keeps feet warm and dry
• noticeably improves walking – step by step

Especially in winter, several stresses act on your splayfoot simultaneously:

• Cold weather further weakens the muscles in the forefoot
• Smooth, hard surfaces increase the pressure on the ball of the foot.
• Wetness cools the feet and reduces blood circulation.
• Tight or rigid shoes further compress the forefoot
• Lack of support for the transverse arch increases the strain on the metatarsal bones

The result?

Splayfoot becomes painful more quickly. Feet tire sooner, the balls of the feet begin to burn, and even short walks feel strenuous. Walks are avoided, movement feels uncomfortable – and everything is particularly bad in winter.

Inappropriate shoes put strain on the splayfoot with every step – and cost you energy every day.

Why your flat feet suffer particularly in winter

Cold temperatures reduce muscle activity. The forefoot becomes less stable. Slippery surfaces constantly force the body to compensate, while heavy shoes increase pressure on the ball of the foot. Without targeted support, the transverse arch collapses further – and pain develops more quickly.

The solution: the right footwear for splayfoot

A high-quality orthopedic winter hiking boot:

• specifically supports the transverse arch
• relieves the painful ball of the foot
• distributes the pressure evenly
• Provides a secure grip on smooth surfaces
• Keeps feet warm and dry
• Reduces stress on knees, hips and back
• makes walking safe and comfortable again

klare Empfehlung.
